Seema Kasthuri is a practitioner and performer of World Music based in St. Louis, MO. With over a decade of training in one of India's most technical forms of music, called "Carnatic Music," Seema is one of the torchbearers of this traditional music form in the United States. Seema's musical journey, from her formative years in India to her exploration of Jazz and country music in the United States, is a testament to her unique vision and diverse influences. Her intention to harmonize distinct genres of music is sure to pique your interest.
Seema has several music albums to her credit on Spotify and YouTube in classical, devotional, and contemporary genres. Her latest music album, "Wind-Chyme," is a unique fusion, classical, and RAP experimentation collection. In this unique representation of Indian folk and rap called the "Janivara – Higher Power," Seema, rapper, and musician Zach Harrison infuse spirituality within rap interludes.

Collaborating with the renowned award-winning, innovative American guitarist, composer Todd Mosby, Jazz drummer Steve Davis, and drummer Prasanna Kasthuri, has taken Seema over the horizon regarding her experiences in world music. The band of six musicians called "The American Raga" performs traditional North and South Indian music along with Indo-Jazz improvs and classical Beetles!
In 2024, Seema was honored by 'Marquis Who's Who' for her expertise in Music, Music Management, and Technology. This recognition is a testament to her talent and dedication, and it further solidifies her position as a respected figure in the music industry.

Seema finds her inspiration in her husband Prasanna Kasthuri, who is a well-known classical dancer and Indian drummer, and her amazing dancer daughter Samanvita, who is a classically trained dancer with broad exposure to contemporary dances!
